Army Says Investigation Ongoing as Family Demands Answers Over Missing LAUTECH Student Since November 2025

The family of Ololade Oladosu, a 300-level student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, has intensified calls for urgent action following his mysterious disappearance on November 29, 2025.

According to relatives, Ololade was last seen when he travelled to Kufo, a village in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in the company of a friend identified as Matthew Adewale, a military officer who reportedly invited him to visit his ailing grandmother.

The family disclosed that both men left on Ololade’s motorcycle, but only Adewale returned—bringing back the motorcycle without Ololade. Since then, all efforts to locate the student have proved unsuccessful.

Sources confirmed that Adewale has been arrested and is currently in custody at a Nigerian Army facility in Ibadan, where investigations into the matter are ongoing. Military authorities have reportedly assured the family that they are working in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the police to unravel the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.

Despite these assurances, the family says there has been little progress.

During a recent visit to the barracks in Ibadan, facilitated by a retired senior military officer, relatives said they were again told to remain patient as investigations continue.

The prolonged uncertainty has taken a heavy emotional toll on the family. Ololade’s parents are said to be deeply distressed, with his mother reportedly suffering sleepless nights, while his father struggles to focus on work. His siblings and extended family members have also been described as devastated.

Speaking during the visit, the student’s grandmother made an emotional appeal to authorities, urging the government to intensify efforts to find her grandson.

The family is now calling on relevant security agencies and the government to expedite investigations and provide clarity on Ololade’s whereabouts.
