Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI have successfully foiled attempted terrorist attacks on their positions at Azir Bridge in Sector 2 and Banki in Sector 1 in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, 2026.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
According to the statement, the terrorists advanced in large numbers in what was described as a desperate attempt to overrun the military locations, but were met with swift and overwhelming resistance from troops on the ground.
The military said the troops, displaying superior tactical awareness and combat readiness, launched well-coordinated spoiling attacks that disrupted the terrorists’ assault formations and threw them into disarray.
The statement added that the engagements were further reinforced by effective close air support from the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI, which played a significant role in the successful defeat of the attackers.
Operation HADIN KAI noted that the failed attacks contradict what it described as misleading propaganda and false reports being circulated on some online media platforms.
It stressed that troops remain firmly in control of both locations and continue to dominate the operational environment with high morale, decisive firepower, and sustained offensive action against terrorist elements.
The Joint Task Force also reassured the public of its determination to defeat all terrorist threats across the theatre of operations and restore lasting peace to the North-East region.
