Abuja — The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially commenced activities marking the 2026 National Police Day celebration with a community sanitation exercise and free medical outreach in Area 1, Abuja.

The Day One activities, held on Monday, March 30, 2026, were flagged off under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammad.

According to the command, the opening day programme featured a sanitation exercise aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness, alongside a free medical outreach designed to provide essential healthcare services to residents, particularly vulnerable members of the community.

The initiative, the command said, reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to community engagement, public health, and environmental sustainability, while also strengthening the relationship between the police and the citizens they serve.

Residents of Area 1 who benefited from the outreach reportedly commended the FCT Police Command for what they described as a proactive effort toward ensuring a cleaner environment and improving access to basic healthcare services.

The FCT Police Command reiterated its dedication to service, partnership, and people-centred policing, noting that activities lined up for the 2026 National Police Day celebration would continue in the coming days.
