Troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade have held a combined interfaith breaking of fast with security agencies and volunteer forces in Bama, Borno State, as part of efforts to strengthen unity and collaboration in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East.
The event, held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Brigade Officers’ Mess in Bama, brought together troops of the brigade, personnel from sister security agencies and members of volunteer forces operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.
In a statement, the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Lieutenant Sani Abubakar Muhammad, said the gathering was aimed at reinforcing cooperation among all stakeholders involved in the fight against insurgency.
Speaking at the event, the Commander of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Tosin Ayoola, welcomed troops, volunteer forces and representatives of other security agencies, while commending their commitment and support in combating insurgency.
He urged all personnel to see themselves as one team in the fight against terrorism, stressing the need for tolerance, mutual respect and unity among security stakeholders.
Ayoola also charged participants to remain focused on the mandate of Operation Hadin Kai, which is to restore peace, security and socio-economic activities across the North-East region.
Special prayers were later offered for the brigade, 7 Division, the Theatre of Operation Hadin Kai, the Nigerian Army and the country.
The event was attended by the Divisional Police Officer and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Bama Division, officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, as well as members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, hunters, vigilantes and Keshkesh, among other stakeholders.
Responding on behalf of the volunteer forces, the head of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Bama, Mu’azu Misiya, thanked the Brigade Commander for organising the gathering, describing it as a thoughtful initiative that would further strengthen unity, cooperation and mutual understanding among all security actors in the area.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the volunteer forces to continue working closely with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the fight against terrorism.
