Dikko Umaru Radda has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to consolidate peace, protect lives and property, and strengthen public confidence across the state.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed noted in a statement that the Governor made the pledge on Tuesday at the Government House, Katsina, while receiving the newly posted Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 14 Headquarters, Umar Shehu Nadada, who paid him a courtesy visit.
Governor Radda described the visit as timely and significant, noting that AIG Nadada’s extensive experience, professionalism, and strategic background would further reinforce ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance security across Katsina State and the wider Zone 14trust.
Earlier, AIG Nadada—who is the 8th AIG to head Zone 14 and assumed duty on January 5, 2026—said the visit was to formally introduce himself, pay respects to the Governor, and familiarize himself with the state’s security architecture in line with protocol.
He praised the Governor for his support to security agencies and pledged close cooperation with the state government to strengthen intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and public safety. The AIG also called on residents of Katsina and Kaduna States within the Zone to remain law-abiding and support the Police with timely information to enable prompt and decisive action against crime.
Those present included the Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, Bello Shehu, alongside other senior police officers and top security personnel from across Zone 14.
