The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has led an extensive operational assessment of Karshi, Kurudu, Karu Bakin Uza and Karufe Hill, key mountainous corridors linking the FCT and Nasarawa State, as part of sustained efforts to strengthen security in vulnerable areas.

The patrol, conducted on December 31, 2025, focused on locations previously identified as routes and hibernation points exploited by armed attackers. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the operation was aimed at reviewing deployments, enhancing operational control, and denying criminal elements freedom of movement within the border communities.

During the visit to Karu, CP Dantawaye paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Sa Karuyi of Karu, FCT, His Royal Highness Joseph Danfulani Narai (JP). The Commissioner emphasized the critical role of traditional institutions and community leaders in supporting security operations, urging residents to continue to cooperate with the Police by providing timely and credible information.

The Commissioner later inspected police deployments across the mountainous terrains of Karshi, Kurudu, Karu, Bakin Uza and Karufe Hill in Nasarawa State. The areas serve as strategic border routes between the FCT and Nasarawa, requiring sustained security presence to prevent criminal infiltration.

While addressing officers on duty, CP Dantawaye commended their resilience and dedication, encouraging them to remain vigilant and professional. He assured them of his full support to ensure effective policing and operational success in the challenging terrain.

The patrol forms part of the FCT Command’s ongoing strategy to regularly assess security deployments in difficult terrains and identified flashpoints within and around the Federal Capital Territory.

Residents have been urged to remain alert and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the Police through the FCT Command emergency lines: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
