IGP Egbetokun, Bahamas Police Commissioner Strengthen International Security Collaboration

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to deepening international policing partnerships, noting that shared expertise, joint training, and collaborative security initiatives are vital to improving national and global security outcomes. 

He made this known on Thursday, 4 December 2025, during a courtesy visit by the National Police Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Commissioner Shanta Emily Knowles, OM, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, mipra, the meeting featured strategic discussions focused on bolstering cooperation in modern law enforcement. 

Key areas included enhanced intelligence sharing, capacity-building programs, strengthened security partnership frameworks, and improved border management strategies. Both leaders emphasized the importance of unified efforts in tackling transnational crimes and building resilient policing systems.

IGP Egbetokun appreciated the renewed collaboration between the two forces, describing it as a significant opportunity for mutual benefit and improved operational outcomes. He assured that the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in pursuing meaningful international alliances that contribute to safer communities and stronger global security networks.
