... Agency Seizes Over 14,440kg Skunk In Osun Forest, Lagos, Edo, Kwara, Taraba, Nasarawa Raids
Operatives of the Special Operations Unit of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a wanted drug baron, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, popularly known as Chisco Bee, after weeks of intensive intelligence gathering and surveillance.
Ibemesi, 42, the MD/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig Ltd, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, 15 November 2025, at his Daisy Garden Hotel located at 66–68 Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos. His arrest led operatives to a warehouse on 7 Pius Ezeobi Street, also in Isolo, where 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of “Loud” (a potent strain of cannabis) weighing 1,762.8kg were recovered.
Cash seized from the suspect included $11,600, £2,000, €2,200, and C$50.
Osun Forest Raid: 11,135kg Skunk Seized, Seven Arrested
In Osun State, NDLEA operatives thwarted a large-scale attempt by a major drug syndicate to distribute 11,135kg of processed skunk from the Orita-Apeje, Araromi-Okeodo forest reserve in Ife South LGA. Two trucks used for conveying the drugs — a Volvo (WWR 29 XA) and a Mercedes (AWK 713 YZ) — were intercepted, and seven suspects were arrested.
Edo Operations Yield 1,902.1kg
A total of 1,902.1kg of skunk was recovered from multiple locations in Edo State. Officers seized 184.1kg along Oza/Igbanke road, 672kg from Utese forest in Ovia North-East, and 494kg from a Mercedes Benz on the Benin–Akure road, where 45-year-old Felix Edah was arrested.
Another suspect, Lucky Abagha, 51, was arrested with 552kg of cannabis in a separate Mercedes Benz.
Ogun, Taraba, Adamawa, Nasarawa Raids
Four suspects—Micheal Okoh, Offor Agada, Raphael Nkemjika, and Nwabueze Franklin—were arrested in Ogun State with 68kg of skunk and 3.150kg of methamphetamine along the Ijebu-Ode expressway.
In Taraba State, Danjuma Tukura, 50, was arrested with 172kg of skunk in Sunkani, Ardo Kola LGA, while 24-year-old Wisdom Titus was caught with 84kg in Takum.
NDLEA operatives at the Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola, recovered 396,000 capsules of tramadol from a suspect, Ahmed Isyaku Nda, 50.
In Nasarawa State, 785kg of skunk was evacuated from the warehouse of a fleeing drug dealer in Asob Maraba Karu.
Lagos Arrests Continue
Two suspects, Jamiu Kunle Kardoso and Oriyomi Waliu, were arrested in Surulere with 65.150kg of Canadian Loud, while Taofeek Moraina was caught with 141kg of Ghana Loud at Otto, Oyingbo.
Kwara Interceptions
In Kwara State, NDLEA intercepted a truck (T-0262KT) along the Ilorin–Jebba expressway loaded with 78.565kg of skunk concealed among 155 cartons of rubber solution. The driver, Umar Yakubu, was arrested.
Another vehicle, a commercial bus (KJA-657CY), was intercepted at Eiyenkorin with 20 blocks of skunk hidden inside a 50-litre jerrycan. The driver, Ibrahim Bello, was taken into custody.
Commands across the country intensified War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaigns in schools, worship centres and communities during the week. Benefiting institutions included Government Day Secondary School, Birnin Ruwa, Zamfara; Holy Ghost Secondary School, Abakaliki; Government Science Technical School, Ringim; City Girls Secondary School, Enugu; Randle Junior Secondary School, Surulere; and Anglican Girls Grammar School, Obalende, Ijebu-Ode, among others.
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), commended the officers of the SOU and the various state commands for their diligence and urged them to maintain the agency’s balanced and sustained approach to drug control nationwide.
