The Nigerian Army has released the newly approved official portrait of the 25th Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.
In a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel I.G. Takwa, on behalf of the Director, Army Public Relations, the Army informed the general public and media organizations that the attached image is the only authorized official portrait of the COAS.
The statement directed media houses and other stakeholders to update their archives and ensure that only the newly approved photograph is used in subsequent publications. It specifically cautioned against the continued use of previous images, especially those showing Lieutenant General Shaibu with the rank of Major General.
Furthermore, the Army advised the public and media practitioners to disregard the earlier portrait that had been previously circulated.
