"Use Alternative Routes" - DHQ Announces Armed Forces Personnel, Security Agencies Route March in Abuja on Friday

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that the Armed Forces and other security agencies will embark on a Route March Exercise in Abuja on Friday, 10 October 2025, beginning at 5:00 a.m.

According to a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the exercise will commence from the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, proceed to Mambilla Barracks, and return to the cantonment through Niger Barracks.

Brigadier General Gusau explained that the march is a routine physical fitness exercise designed to promote synergy, physical readiness, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.

The DHQ further advised members of the public, especially road users along the Asokoro–AYA axis, to take note of the exercise and use alternative routes as directed by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management agencies, who will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow.

While expressing regret for any inconvenience the temporary road diversions might cause, the Defence Headquarters appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the general public.
