President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the name of Dr Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State to the Senate for confirmation as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday.
Dr Doro’s nomination follows the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr Doro boasts over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the United Kingdom and Nigeria.
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr Doro is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with extensive NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centres, GP practices, and hospital settings.
Beyond his professional career, Dr Doro has been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives within the diaspora and local communities, reflecting his commitment to human development and public service.
If confirmed by the Senate, Dr Doro will replace Prof. Yilwatda in the Federal Executive Council.
