Charges Religious and Societal Influencers to Promote Patriotism and Harmony as Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere Visits Command Headquarters

As part of preparations for the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election scheduled for November 8, 2025, the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, has intensified his peace and security advocacy by engaging key religious leaders and societal influencers across the state.

The initiative, according to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, aims to strengthen community partnerships and encourage moral and civic responsibility among citizens ahead of the polls.

Speaking on Wednesday, 23rd October 2025, during a courtesy visit by the founder of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere (popularly known as Odumeje), at the Police Command Headquarters in Awka, CP Orutugu called on faith-based leaders and opinion shapers to use their platforms to preach peace, unity, and patriotism.

He emphasized that the Police Command remains committed to a non-kinetic approach in ensuring a credible and violence-free electoral process, stressing that the cooperation of all sectors of society is crucial.

“Leaders, especially those with moral and social influence, have a duty to guide their followers toward peace, lawful conduct, and love for the nation, particularly in times of heightened political activity,” the Commissioner stated.

He urged churches and faith-based organizations to complement the Police’s efforts by educating their members on peaceful participation and respect for law and order throughout the election period.

In his response, Prophet Ohanaemere lauded the Police Command for its proactive and inclusive leadership style, commending CP Orutugu’s open-door approach to stakeholder engagement.

He also offered prayers for divine wisdom and protection for the Force, pledging his continuous support and intercession for a peaceful and successful election in Anambra State.

The meeting, which forms part of ongoing consultations with critical stakeholders, underscores the Anambra Police Command’s commitment to community-driven, non-kinetic strategies for sustaining peace, security, and public trust across the state.
