DIG Osayande, who passed away on September 28, 2025, was a highly respected officer and former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC). He was celebrated for his reform-driven leadership, professionalism, and dedication to advancing policing standards in Nigeria.

During the visit, IGP Egbetokun commiserated with members of the Osayande family, describing the late DIG as “a quintessential officer, a patriot, and one of the finest products of the Nigeria Police Force, whose legacy of integrity, discipline, and selfless service will remain evergreen in the institution’s history.”

The IGP also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed elder statesman’s soul and for comfort for his family, noting that the Nigeria Police Force had lost a mentor, reformist, and guiding figure.

Egbetokun emphasized that the visit was part of his ongoing commitment to honouring past police icons who laid the foundation for modern Nigerian policing.
