The family of late Brigadier General AU Kuliya (N/9692), a former Director, Department of Land Warfare (DLW), on Thursday, 9 October 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji. The visit came in remembrance of the late senior officer who was among those who lost their lives in the ill-fated Nigerian Air Force Beechcraft King Air B350i crash at the Kaduna International Airport.
Leading the delegation, Mrs. Kuliya expressed deep appreciation to the College for the honour accorded her late husband through the naming of the newly constructed Staff Duties Wing Hall after him. She noted that the gesture reflected the love, respect, and high esteem in which her husband was held for his dedication and service to both the College and the nation.
Mrs. Kuliya, accompanied by her son, sister, and brothers, was warmly received by the Commandant and senior officers of the College.
In his remarks, the Commandant described the late Brigadier General Kuliya as a disciplined, exceptional, and selfless officer whose dedication to duty and integrity left an enduring legacy within the College and the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The family was later conducted to the Staff Duties Wing, where the newly constructed hall named in the late officer’s honour stands as a lasting tribute to his contributions to military education and leadership. They also visited a tree he planted during his service at the College and toured the Department of Land Warfare Hall of Fame, where his biography and achievements were digitally displayed.
Speaking during the visit, the current Director, Department of Land Warfare, Brigadier General NUC Ogili, described the late senior officer as a man of humility, courage, and exemplary character. He prayed for God’s continued strength and comfort for the family as they continue to bear the loss.
The event featured prayers by the College Imam, Commander AO Abdulhameed, for the repose of the late senior officer’s soul, and a group photograph to mark the memorable occasion.
