PCRC National Leadership Commends Kogi Police Commissioner, AIG Zone 8 for Support to Zone 8 Chairman

The National Leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has expressed deep appreciation to the Kogi State Police Command and the Zone 8 Police Headquarters for their unwavering support to Hajia Rabiatu Okute, the PCRC Chairman of Zone 8, during her period of bereavement.

In a statement signed by Comrade Amb. Kunle Sodipo, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the National Chairman, the PCRC revealed that a delegation was dispatched on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to personally deliver letters of appreciation to the two senior police officers for their outstanding contributions to PCRC activities and their compassionate support to Hajia Rabiatu Okute following the passing of her husband.

The delegation was led by Alhaji Uthman Jagunma, Assistant National Auditor and respected Zone 8 leader from Kwara State.

Key highlights of the visit include:

Delivery of appreciation letters to the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 8.

The letters acknowledged both officers’ significant support to PCRC Zone 8 and their show of solidarity during Hajia Rabiatu Okute’s mourning period.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Kogi State Command received the message on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Administration, Zone 8 Headquarters, accepted the letter for the AIG.

Comrade Sodipo emphasized that the gesture was not only a mark of gratitude but also a testament to the strong relationship between the police and the community through the PCRC.

He further noted that the leadership of the PCRC remains committed to fostering cooperation between the police and citizens in promoting peace, security, and effective community policing in Nigeria.
