OPHK Troops Neutralize Dozens of Terrorists, Recover Arms and Ammunition in Week-Long North-East Offensive

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), backed by close air support from the Air Component and local security outfits, have recorded major successes in sustained counter-terrorism offensives across the North-East between August 23 and 30, 2025.

According to military authorities, the coordinated operations were conducted in Gujba, Gubio, Sabsawa, Whumtakum in Chibok Local Government Area (LGA), Mandarari in Konduga LGA, Gajigana in Magumeri LGA, as well as Konduga, Banki and Loskori Kura in Mafa LGA.

Over 20 members of Boko Haram/ISWAP were neutralized, while several logistics suppliers and collaborators were arrested.

Recovered during the operations were AK-47 rifles, rocket-propelled grenade tubes and bombs, large quantities of 7.62mm ammunition, and other terrorists’ logistics items.

Troops also intercepted 242 bags of NPK fertilizer suspected to be destined for bomb-making, and safely detonated multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The Nigerian Army said the week-long offensive has further degraded the insurgents’ capabilities and denied them freedom of movement, thereby improving security conditions for socio-economic activities in the region.

The Defence Headquarters commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, while assuring them of continuous support to sustain the momentum against terrorism in the North-East.
