The Nigerian Army has alerted the public to a fake recruitment publication currently circulating on social media and other online platforms, falsely claiming that applications for the 90 Regular Recruitment Intake have commenced.

In a statement issued by the Directorate of Recruitment, Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Captain Abubakar Umar Hammanga, the Army described the publication as false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to deceive unsuspecting members of the public.

“The publication is false, misleading, and should be disregarded in its entirety. The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities,” Captain Hammanga said.

He emphasized that all authentic information regarding recruitment will only be published through the Nigerian Army’s verified official platforms, cautioning the public against falling victim to fraudsters and cybercriminals.

The statement further assured Nigerians that once the portal for the 90 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened, the Army will duly inform the public through its official channels.

Captain Hammanga urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious recruitment activities to relevant authorities, reiterating the Army’s commitment to transparency, professionalism, and due process in its recruitment exercises.

The Nigerian Army also warned individuals behind the fake publication to desist, noting that appropriate legal action would be taken against perpetrators of fraudulent recruitment schemes.
