The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, is leading a high-powered Nigerian delegation to the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (GPSCF) holding from September 16 to 18, 2025, in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China.

In a statement issued by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, the IGP’s participation follows an invitation from the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

The Forum brings together Ministers of Security, Police Chiefs, law enforcement leaders, and security experts worldwide to deliberate on strategies to combat transnational crimes, strengthen international partnerships, and enhance global public safety.

As part of the event, IGP Egbetokun will deliver a Keynote Address on September 18, 2025, themed “Combating Transnational Crime and Countermeasures.” His speech will highlight Nigeria’s ongoing counter-crime initiatives, policing reforms, and collaborative international efforts to disrupt cross-border criminal networks and protect communities.

Ahead of the forum, the IGP will meet with Mr. Qi Yanjun, Deputy Minister of Public Security of China, on September 15, 2025, to discuss deepening security cooperation, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and strengthening law enforcement ties between Nigeria and China.

The Nigeria Police Force said the IGP’s participation at this global event reflects Nigeria’s commitment to international security collaboration, intelligence-driven policing, and proactive measures to address emerging global security threats.

This also reinforces Nigeria’s position as a responsible global partner in shaping the future of public safety and law enforcement.
