The Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has charged troops of 29 Task Force Brigade to remain vigilant and sustain an aggressive posture against terrorists operating in their areas of responsibility.
Major General Abubakar gave the charge during a two-day operational assessment visit from 26–27 August 2025 to formations under the brigade, including 154 Task Force Battalion at Ngamdu, 156 Task Force Battalion at Mainok, 273 Task Force Battalion at Jakana, and 29 Task Force Brigade headquarters at Benisheikh.
The visit, according to Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Theatre, was aimed at appraising operational activities, assessing combat readiness, ensuring judicious use of the Chief of Army Staff’s intervention efforts, and verifying the optimal utilization of platforms and equipment deployed in the theatre.
Commending the troops for their gallantry, the Theatre Commander urged them not to relent in their efforts, stressing the need for resilience, vigilance, and aggression in confronting terrorists and other criminal elements. He also emphasized the importance of close supervision, effective coordination, and prioritization of troops’ welfare, especially the standard of feeding.
In a heart-to-heart interaction with the troops, Major General Abubakar listened to their concerns on administrative challenges, pledging to address some immediately while forwarding others to the military high command for resolution.
Briefing the Theatre Commander, the Commander 29 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Oseni Braimah, along with Commanding Officers of the battalions, highlighted the measures adopted to dominate their operational environment and deny terrorists freedom of action. They assured the Theatre Commander of their commitment to sustaining the operational tempo and ensuring the protection of lives and property within their areas of responsibility.
The visit was attended by formation commanders, senior staff officers from Theatre Headquarters, and the Commander Sector 2, Brigadier General Beyidi Martins.
