NAF Takes to the Skies: 61st Anniversary Open Day Brings Aviation to Life

 

As part of the activities commemorating its 61st anniversary of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base Kainji in Niger State came alive with a vibrant Open Day, drawing students, families, and aviation lovers into a world of flight and service.

The Open Day event kicked off nationwide, at all NAF bases across the country from 1 to 15 May 2025.

This special initiative, themed “Come See Your Air Force,” aims to foster stronger civil-military relations and offer Nigerians a unique opportunity to witness the inner workings of their Air Force firsthand.

From powerful aircraft displays to engaging exhibitions, and a thrilling novelty football match, the event offered a rare chance for the public to interact with the Force and witness its capabilities beyond the skies.

“I never imagined I’d stand beside a fighter jet,” said Azeez Gafar, a student. “Today, I saw heroes in uniform and felt inspired.”

These captivating moments reflect not just NAF’s strength, but its commitment to connect, engage, and inspire the next generation.
