Army War College Nigeria Celebrates Course 8/2024 Graduation, 75 New Operational Level Officers To Boost National Security

The Governor of Katsina State, Dr Dikko Umaru Rada has assured the Chief of Defence Staff,  ( CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa of State Government continuous support and partnership with the Armed Forces of Nigeria AFN towards the fight against banditry and insecurity.

Governor Umar RRaddagave this assurance when the CDS, General Musa paid an operational visit to Katsina State to assess the operational readiness to address security challenges. 

He thanked the CDS for coming to assess security situation in the state with the aim of providing a lasting solution. 

He said the government is sensitising people on the need to cooperate with Armed Forces and other security agencies. 

Governor Radda also said the State will continue to demand more, while appealing for increased security presence in the southern part of Katsina state. 

Speaking at the Governor's office, General Musa thanked the Governor for his enormous support to the AFN and for providing a conducive atmosphere for troops to operate. He also commended the governor's commitment and developmental stride in the state. The CDS informed the governor that he was in Katsina on the order of the president to asses Joint Operation Areas. 

General Musa further called on the people of the state to cooperate fully with the military and other security agencies in Katsina. According to him, " security is everybody responsibility". " All must come to together to ensure security challenges are addressed,"he charged. 

While addressing troops, the Defence Chief enjoined them to be more patriotic, committed, and exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities. 

He pledged improved troops welfare and the provision of adequate equipment to arrest insecurity. 

Director Defence Information, Brig. General Tukur Gusau in his press statement similarly noted that General Musa was at the Yaradua family house to condole with them over the demise of Hajia Dada Musa Yar'adua the family matriarch and mother of late President Umaru Musa Yaradua. 

He described her as a committed and humane woman of virtue. He added that the country will miss her contributions to the development of the nation. The CDS prayed for the repose of her soul and called on the family to embrace and improve on her legacies. 

SpyeTV News reports that the CDS, General Musa was at the State on the directive of the President and Commander in Chief, H.E Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
