COAS Welfare Flight Airlifts 322 Personnel From Frontline For Holidays

In continuation with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) welfare flight to move troops on vacation from the North East front lines, and return those who have completed their holidays back into the North East front lines, a total of 322 personnel were airlifted on Tuesday,  3rd September 2024 to different destinations in a chartered ValuJet aircraft as seen in the pictures below.

On arrival of both sorties, all the troops were screened by a medical team from 7 Div Medical Stores and Hospital as one of the preventative measures against the spread of M-POX into the Theatre.

SpyeTV News reports that the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya (Rtd)  inaugurated the welfare flight in 2022 for troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) who are proceeding on pass to and fro the theatre of operations.

The flight was part of COAS’ efforts to cater for the welfare of troops and boost their morale.

The initiative was aimed at addressing problems such as distance and other associated challenges, while proceeding on pass to see their families and loved ones.

The ongoing joint operations in the theatre since had further strengthened the synergy between the services and other security agencies.
