Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE maintained the momentum against the activities of crude oil theft. Troops continued to find and destroyed illegal refining sites as well as arrest the perpetrators of oil theft.
On Monday 15 July 2024, Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH discovered and deactivated 3 illegal refining sites laden with unspecified amount of stolen crude oil in Gbaran Community.
Furthermore, the patrol team intercepted and impounded a 200 horsepower boat and 4 welded metal drums suspected to be materials meant for the construction of illegal refining sites in Agbura, Bayelsa State.
