Military Troops Disperse Bandits and Rescue Kidnap Victims in Zamfara State

 


Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) showcased their bravery and commitment to duty as they dispersed bandits in Tsafe town, Tsafe Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State, and successfully rescued 10 kidnapped victims.

Responding swiftly to a distress call on the night of March 12, 2024, OPHD troops engaged in a fierce gun duel with the bandits upon arrival in Tsafe town. Employing aggressive tactics and demonstrating unwavering determination, the troops decisively overpowered the bandits, compelling them to flee with gunshot wounds through a rocky bush, leaving behind all 10 kidnapped individuals.

Information Officer of the Operation Hadarin Daji, Lieutenant Suleiman Omale in a press statement said during subsequent mop-up patrols in the area, the resilient troops intercepted and successfully rescued all 10 victims, reuniting them with their families, thus bringing relief and joy to the affected communities.

He said, Major General GM Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Sokoto, commended the gallant performance, doggedness, brevity, and professionalism exhibited by the troops. He expressed his appreciation for their efforts and urged them to maintain the momentum in the pursuit of restoring peace and security in the region.

The successful operation underscores the dedication and commitment of OPHD troops in combating criminal elements and safeguarding the lives and property of citizens in Zamfara State.
