In a bid to provide swift intervention and address the insecurity in Bokkos, Mangu, Barkin Ladi local government areas, other parts of the State and Neighboring States, President Bola Tinubu has graciously approved the establishment of a Military Barracks to be located in Miller Farm (Gada Biyu) Mbar District Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The President gave the directive to the The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa to work out modalities to ensure the establishment of the Military Barracks to address the security challenges being faced.
Former Governor of the State, Sen. Joshua Dariye made concerted efforts to facilitate the establishment of the Barracks in order to curtail the incessant attacks that have led to the loss of numerous lives, looting and destruction of property.
The Barracks when established and operational would address the incessant attacks and killings in Bokkos, Mangu, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and neighboring Nasarawa State.
This is coming at a time when certain communities were sacked, property looted and scores killed simultaneously on Christmas Eve of 2023 in Bokkos, Mangu and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas.
