The Commandant Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) Brigadier General Wisdom Etuk charged the newly decorated senior officers on loyalty, a core value the Armed Forces of Nigeria is known for, which he noted that it cannot be compromised by its personnel.
General Etuk made these remarks during the decoration ceremony of eight (8) recently promoted senior officers of the College who benefited from the 2023 promotion promulgation as approved by the Army Council.
College Public Relations Officer, Major George Okupe said in a press statement on Wednesday that the investiture ceremony was well graced and had in attendance staff officers and families as well as well-wishers amongst others, the event took place at the HQ NACOLM Permanent Site, Ojo Lagos on 6 December 2023.
Speaking during the event, the Commandant congratulated the recently promoted senior officers and urged them to redouble their efforts to justify the confidence the NA reposed in them.
He noted that the event looks simple but stressed how symbolic and important the investiture is to the beneficiaries. While reminding them that elevation to a new rank comes with enormous tasks and added responsibilities, he implored all officers to re-evaluate their social values in terms of having integrity, loyalty and empathy.
The Commandant concluded his remarks by enjoining the newly decorated senior officers to remain committed to the Service and take good care of their families. He further solicited for continuous support from the families of the beneficiaries, reiterating that to whom much is given, much is expected.
He expatiated that the promotion should be the reason for them to put more effort into their services to the system. He further expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for his relentless support to the College and for finding his officers worthy to be promoted.
Highlights of the event were presentation and investiture of beneficiaries, words of advice from distinguished Directors and Chief Instructors, refreshments, vote of thanks and a group photograph to climax the ceremony.
Present at the event were the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies Brigadier General JIB Manjang, Director of Administration Brigadier General OJ Majebi, Faculty and Administrative Staff of the College amongst other invited guests.
