As a meaningful gesture, and in a bid to mark his birthday, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has taken a trip down memory lane, visiting Mallam Yahaya Abdulkareem Model Primary School, formerly his alma mater from 1974 to 1980 where he inaugurated a hospital project within the community.

General Musa revisited cherished memories during a visit to his childhood neighborhood.

In a press statement on Wednesday, Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau noted that General Musa, who celebrated his birthday on 25 December 2023, joyfully reunited with the Gwiwa Low-Cost Community where he was born and raised.

While inaugurating the hospital project, General Musa emphasized his commitment to improving the well-being of its residents.

Embracing a people-centric approach, General Musa undertook the renovation of the Gwiwa Community Hospital, fostering connections with old neighbors and childhood friends. The community, expressing their gratitude, rallied together to commend the CDS, displaying placards to convey their appreciation for the newly commissioned hospital.

It's worth noting that on the preceding day, as part of his Christmas and birthday celebrations, the CDS generously distributed hampers and cash to ailing personnel during his visit to the Defence Headquarters Hospital immediately after the church service.

General Musa, fostering morale and camaraderie, shared a Christmas lunch with the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, urging them to remain steadfast in the fight against terrorism. He assured the troops of his unwavering support and conveyed the President's goodwill message, emphasizing a collective resolve to overcome challenges.
