THE Defence Headquarters on Wednesday said, President Tinubu has launched the 2024 Armed Forces Of Nigeria (AFN) Day Emblem and Appeal Fund.
The DHQ made this known on its official page on X platform that "In a build up to the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the Commander In Chief Of The Armed Forces Of Nigeria, launched the 2024 AFN Day Emblem and Appeal Fund."
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said, "In appreciation of the sacrifices of the men and women of our Armed Forces and to underscore this government's commitment to their welfare, I have approved the sum of 18 Billion Naira for the payment of Group Life Assurance Benefits, pensions and other entitlements to the families of service members who lost their lives in the line of duty.
"It, therefore, falls on us, as a people, to honour the memory of the valiant officers, men and women who paid the supreme sacrifice and to provide a decent and humane standard of care for all who have served our dear Nigeria."
