The Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has emphasized the undeniable need for collaborative efforts for improved security architecture in the nation.
The IGP Egbetokun said this on Thursday 31st August, 2023, when he paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Police Affairs to congratulate and brief the newly appointed Ministers on the internal security situation of the country,
He reiterated the importance of creating an enabling environment for officers and urged all stakeholders to support the ongoing reform efforts of the current administration.
He also emphasizing the need for enhanced synergy in tackling the evolving security challenges facing our nation.
During the visit, the IGP who was accompanied by the members of the Force Management Team, had fruitful discussions with the Honourable Minister, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, and the Minister of State, Hajia Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, addressing critical issues such as the state of national security, ongoing police reforms, and strategies to enhance collaboration between the NPF and the Ministry of Police Affairs.
Recognizing the significance of modernizing the NPF and promoting community-oriented policing programs, the Honourable Minister assured the IGP of the Ministry’s unwavering support towards the implementation of key reforms and initiatives.
They acknowledged the pivotal role played by the police in maintaining law and order and pledged their dedication to providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and training required for the Force to efficiently discharge its duties and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.
