Warrant Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers of various Corps of the Nigerian Army have completely their training at the Warrant Officers Academy which began on 7 January 2023 with intensive training and major academic exercise designed to build the capacity of the warrant Officers and Senior non-Commissioned Officers to develop their leadership and management skills to efficiently interprete command decisions.
SpyeTV News reports that the Graduation Ceremony of Warrant Officers' Academy Course 41/2023 took place on 9th June 2023 at the Warrant Officers Academy, Kaduna.
In his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Faruk Yahaya ably represented by the Commander, Infantry Corp, Major General Christopher Musa, explained that sister services will henceforth send their personnel for training at the academy to promote synergy in tackling the nation's adversaries.
He noted that it is only through joint services that the military will be able to win every battles against Nigeria's adversaries.
"All hands must continue to be on deck to ensuring that the Nigerian Army achieve its vision to win all land battles in the defence of the country's territorial integrity and protection of the interest hereby providing the request security for our dear nation Nigeria.
"So the navy and the Ait force will be sending their representatives henceforth to make sure that we work together. The military is one unit and now we know the challenges we are facing, no single service can do it alone, so we must carry everybody along,"he added.
The Army Chief noted that the Academy has so far been site to achieve this through focused training that has prepared its graduates to confront challenges in line with his vision, which is by have A PROFESSIONAL NIGERIAN ARMY READY TO ACCOMPLISH ASSIGNED MISSIONS WITHIN A JOINT ENVIRONMENT IN DEFENCE OF NIGERIA"wish to nongratulate the graduands for their commitment and diligence in completing the theoretical and practical aspect of the intensive course.
He said he believe the professional stalls Course 41/2023 participants have acquired during the courses would enable them to be well equipped in bridging the knowledge and leadership gaps between the officers and soldiers.
"Accordingly, it is hoped that the training you have undergone will reflect in your poufidence, comportment, skills and overall bearing while dealing with your subordinates in the field. I have he doubts that you are now better able to contribute to the good administration of your respective units. I therefore charge you to employ the knowledge and sidis acquired here to projent your leadership end management capabilities for the benefit of the Nigerian Army in whatever capacity you are deployed," he added.
He commended the Commandant of the Institution for his leadership, as well as the instructors and the rest of the staff of the Warrant Officers' Academy for their dedication to training. He said he is aware that "you have reviewed the Warrant Officers Academy course curriculum with a view to improving the course content, focusing on leadership end mentoring towards addressing current operational challenges as well as the rate of Warrart Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers".
He urged graduands to be innovative and creative as they march towards tackling and resolving the security challenges currently confronting the country.
Earlier in his Welcome remarks, the Commandant, Warrant Officers Academy, Brigadier General Auwalu Mahmuda said "by virtue of their training at the Warrant Officers Academy, we are confident that you will be professionals in carrying out your duties. I charge you therefore, to be courageous, honest, discipline and loyal leaders".
Brig General Mahmuda said this is the Forty One set of SNCO's to graduate from the Academy since its inception in 1994. The Course assembled on 7 Jan 2023 comprising 60 WOS/SNCOS from various corps of the NA.
He noted that the Warrant Officers' Academy Course is a 22 weeks course featuring intense field training and a measure of academic activities designed to build the capacity of SNCO's.
"Let me commend you graduants for the untiring efforts you have put in to ensure that you are qualified to graduate today. You are now adequately equipped to cope with the challenges that you are bound to face when you go back to your units where you will be required to apply the knowledge and skills you have been taught here, to your day-to-day experience. I encourage you to build on the knowledge gained here, through self-development", he said.
Today's graduation event is yet another milestone in the history of the Warrant Officers Academy as it turns out the 41t sets of graduates as alumni of this prestigious military institution.
The warrant officers Academy was established in 1994, aimed at developing the leadership and management skills of the SNCOS in order to equip them to efficiently interpret and communicate command decisions down the line, thereby bridging the existing gap between officers' and the soldiers' cadre.
