The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has presented Certificate of Return to the President Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
SpyeTV News reports that, at exactly 4:00am today, the INEC Chairman declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Senator Kashim Shetima of the APC, winner of last Saturday’s Presidential election having scored the highest number of votes.
The occasion which was witnessed by people from all walks of life across party lines took INEC over One hour to manage the situation at the Congress Hall of the International Conference Center Abuja before the commencement of the presentation.
In a remark, the President Elect, Senator Bola Tinubu called on Nigerians to Join hands with him and begin the task of rebuilding the country.
He assured Nigerians especially the Youths that the incoming admnistration would be committed to renew their hope and bring the country back on track.
He stressed that he would run an open door policy and ensure even distribution of resources.
Earlier, INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu who was the Chief Returning Electoral officer for last Saturday’s Presidential election presented the certificates of return to the President and Vice President Elect to complete the last process of the presidential election.
The event was attended by Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, APC National Chairman, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Members of the National Assembly, Members of the Federal Executive Council, Party Stalwarts and members of the diplomatic corps .
