The Ogun State Police Command and military operatives have said, normalcy has been restored to Shagamu Area of Ogun State after angry youths were said to had besieged Keystone bank in Shagamu as early as 7am before the bank was expected to open for customers at 8am.
Reports say, customers were not being attended to and the ATM couldn't dispense cash, therefore youths went into rampage.
Speaking to Journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, said peace has now been restored in Shagamu with the support of military operatives who swooped on the protesters to restore normalcy.
"I'm on ground since 9am. I personally led my men. I will not be able to give you details now and “27 suspects have been arrested so far."
SpyeTV News reports that, there were protests in many states of the country last week, in Delta State two banks were attacked, in Benin City Edo State capital, two banks were also attached by angry youths. They attempted to break into Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) but were stoutly repelled by both police and soldiers.
There were reports that four people died in Benin City during the mayhem Also in Ibadan, Oyo State capital and in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, violent protests disrupted businesses, shops were forced to close.
In Port Harcourt a bank was attacked, there was protest in Lagos State at Ketu, Mile 12, Ojota, Ikorodu, and at Agege.
