The Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) Zone 'B' comprises of the 6 North Eastern States has commended the troops of Operation Hadin Kai North East in the fight against Insurgency.
The Chairman of the organization and regional manager, Borno Radio Television, Alhaji Adamu Isa Abadam gave the commendation when he led his team on a courtesy and familiarization visit to the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General CG Musa at the Command Headquarters in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of the organization and regional manager, Borno Radio Television, Alhaji Adamu Isa Abadam averred that the visit was aimed at appreciating the military for their efforts and commitment in the fight against insurgency in the North East.
While commending the military for the initiative of running a media outfit (108FM, Radio HADIN KAI) in the NE, the Chairman also requested for the support and permission of the Theatre to incorporate Radio HADIN KAI into their organization.
The team also commended the Theatre for the sustained synergy and cooperation existing between the command and media outlets in the region, hence, the organization seek better media - military relations.
In his response, the Theatre Commander represented by the Deputy Theatre Commander, Maj Gen MS Ahmed assured the organization of the continuous support and cooperation of the military in all media activities geared towards enhancing National security and security awareness of the civil populace.
While appreciating members of the organization for their patriotic reportage and support, the Deputy Theatre Commander also described the media organization as "critical stakeholders in the fight against insurgency in the NE".
He further urged the organization to continue to sensitize the public through media campaigns and also encourage BHT/ISWAP Terrorists to surrender while they can or face the wrath of the military; because 'we will continue to uphold our oath of allegiance without compromise', he emphasized.
