The newly appointed Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Brig Gen FS Etim has assured the people of his readiness to provide security within Taraba State.
The Brigade Commander who was speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony at the Brigade Headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State promised to work with all security stakeholders within the state to ensure that the peace being enjoyed by the people is sustained and improved on.
Brig Gen FS Etim further charged officers and personnel of the brigade to remain steadfast, proactive and conduct themselves professionally in the discharge of their mandate.
Speaking earlier, the Outgoing Commander 6 Brigade, Brigadier General HI Mabeokwu thanked the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity to serve as the pioneer Commander of the Brigade.
He expressed confidence in his successor to consolidate on his achievements in dealing with threat to security of the state.
“I know you will succeed especially with your depth of experience.” he averred. He further urged officers and soldiers to extend the cooperation he enjoyed as pioneer commander of the brigade to the new commander.
Until his appointment to Command 6 Brigade, Brigadier General Etim was the Commandant, Amphibious Training School Calabar, Cross River State.
The event's highlight was the decoration of the new Commander with 6 Brigade insignia and the hoisting of the flag signifying the new dawn for the Brigade.
