The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has ordered for the procurement of more trucks enhance the operational efficiency of the theatres.
Corps Commander, Supply and Transport, Major General BN Salami on Sunday made this known when handing over logistics equipment comprising of 6 Lowbed trucks to the Theatre Commander, Major General Christopher Musa.
The Theatre Commander in turn handed over the trucks to Comd 77 ST Brigade, Brigadier General AA Ekubi at the Motor Transport Yard in Maimalari Cantonment.
The Corps Commander disclosed that the COAS showed this kind gesture to the theatre as a way of appreciating troops’ effort, dedication and resilience in curbing terrorism in the North East.
In his remarks, the Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI Maj Gen Musa expressed immense appreciation to the COAS for always stepping up for the Theatre in providing the requisite logistics equipment when needed and that the equipment will enhance the operational efficiency of the theatre, he added.
The hitch free event was attended by Component Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, officers and Men of Operation HADIN KAI.
