Theatre Commander JTF North East Operation Hadin Kai Fetes Defence Advisers from 17 Countries

The Theatre Commander Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Christopher Musa on Thursday hosted members of the Defence Advisers from 17 Countries to a Dinner at the Command Guests House Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.

The Dinner was the climax of the Operational and Assessment Visit of the Defence Advisers to the North East Theatre of operations.

The Defence Advisers are from Uganda, Zambia, Gambia, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, China, Cote D'Ivoire, France, India, Morocco, Poland, Sierra Leone, South Korea, Ukraine, Denmark, and Algeria.

According to General Musa, the team were in the Theatre through the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and thereafter stopped by for Operational Assessment Visit to Headquarters JTF North East OPHK. 

He added that the military diplomats have been briefed on the activities of OPHK and to crown it all, it was considered important to host them to a dinner in order to showcase the beautiful cultural heritage of the good people of Borno before departing the city of the El-Kanemi.

In his opening remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Major General Waidi Shaibu said the purpose of the dinner is not only to dine and wine but  also to have an atmosphere to interact with the top seasoned and experienced senior military officers from Africa, Europe and Asia which he believes will form part of the memorable time of their diplomatic assignment to Nigeria.

General Shaibu further stated that the occasion will avail them the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the sight and sounds of Maiduguri. 

In his words "Your presence in the Theatre will give you the true impression of the North East, and create a platform to chart more courses to combat terrorism, adding that their respective countries have been partners and of great support to Nigeria. 

He appreciated the military diplomats for their time and therefore wished them a memorable stay in Borno State.

While delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the team, the Director Foreign Liaison (DFL) Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), Major General ES Buba said their visit to the Theatre of OPHK is to enable members of the Defence Attaches have an on- the-spot assessment of activities and operations in the North East.

Stating that the visit has truly broadened their horizons and they are grateful for the well packaged briefs, tours and receptions accorded to them. 

He therefore, wished the Leadership of the Theatre, Commanders, officers and troops an unparallel victory in the fight against insurgency.
