Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary in Abuja.
He was declared winner at the primary held on Saturday at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
He polled 371 of 767 votes cast while Nyesom Wike polled 237 votes to place second.
Reacting, Atiku Abubakar said, “I am grateful to God, the distinguished delegates and the leadership of the PDP for the chance to contest to serve Nigeria.
Other results are, Bukola Saraki, 70 votes; Bala Mohammed 20 votes; Tari Diana Olivia 1 votes; Sam Ohuanbunwa 1 votes; Udom Emmanuel Gabriel 38 votes; Pius Anyim 14 votes.
Atiku had in 1993, contested the Social Democratic Party presidential primary, losing to Moshood Abiola and Baba Gana Kingibe.
He was a presidential candidate of the Action Congress in the 2007 presidential election coming in third to Umaru Yar’Adua of the PDP and Muhammadu Buhari of the ANPP.
