University of Maiduguri VC Lauds Military Over Tremendous Selfless Sacrifices and Commitment of Troops

The Vice Chancellor of University of Maiduguri, Professor Aliyu Shugaba has lauded the Nigerian military over the tremendous selfless sacrifices and commitment of the troops of Operation HADIN KAI in the fight against the insurgency as well as provision of security to the institution.

Professor Aliyu Shugaba said this when the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Prof. Shugaba who was highly elated to have the Theatre Commander in his office expressed appreciation to troops of Operation HADIN KAI for adequate security within and outside the school.

He said that the presence of the troops within and around the school is a motivating factor that has not only enhanced the conduct of their activities, but also checkmating other possible vices by students.

In his word, the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) Major General Christopher Gwabin Musa assured the Leadership of University of Maiduguri of continuous provision of adequate security within the school and adjacent communities.

Speaking during the visit, the TC said "the military will ensure that adequate security is maintained within the school in order to provide a serene learning atmosphere for students" He added that the school has over the years contributed immensely in the educational development of the active group of the society and deserves commendation. 

Similarly, the Theatre Commander granted special interview to the official Radio Station of the School 97.7 Kanem FM. General Christopher used the opportunity to infom the general public on the activities of the Nigerian Military, calling on the populace to continue to support and collaborate with the Military in information sharing towards winning the war against insurgency in the North East.
