About 235 Senior Officers have been promoted to the ranks of one and two stars Generals.
The Nigerian Army promoted 41 officers to the ranks of Major Generals from Brigadier Generals, while 76 Colonels were promoted to Brigadier Generals.
In addition, the Nigerian Navy promoted 21 Commodores to Rear Admirals and 36 Captains to Commodores, while the NAF promoted 29 new Air Vice Marshals from Air Commodores and 31 Air Commodore to higher ranks, 5 Master Warrant Officers to Flight Lieutenant.
The Minister of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Magashi (Retd), presided over the Armed Forces Council Meeting as the Chairman which was held at the ship house ministry of Defence.
Among the newly promoted Major Generals in the Nigerian army is the Director of Defence Media Operations ( DMO), Benard Onyeuko.
