The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has taken the delivery of new speed boats, as part of measures to boost security on the state’s waterways and protect the lives and property of the citizenry.
The Armoured boats (double 200 HP Engine) and W23 Speed Boats (Single 200HP Engine) is aimed at curbing criminal activities along its coastal areas and waterways.
The marine base is also ancillary to the development of the Benin River Port, which will boost economic activities and expand the frontiers for maritime and other related businesses in the state.
