Woman Bandits' Arms Supplier Arrested With 991 Ammunition

The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested  one Fatima Lawali, a native of Namoda LGA who specialized in supplying arms and ammunition to bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Katsina and Niger States respectively.
The operation was carried out by the Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with FIB/STS led by DSP Hussaini Gimba.​​​​
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah made this known while briefing newsmen on the achievements recorded by the his command in the ongoing operations against criminal elements in the State. 
Elkanah said the suspect was arrested at Gada Biyu area, under Bungudu LGA with 991 rounds of AK-47 live ammunition being conveyed from Dabagi Village in Sokoto State to be delivered to a notorious bandit kingpin called Ado Alero who has been terrorizing Zamfara and neighbouring states.
He also added that the police operatives on credible intelligence arrested one 55-year old Abdullahi Mohammed on criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting and being in possession of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, other illicit drugs supply to various bandit’s camps in Zamfara, Kaduna, Niger and Abuja axis. 
On interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, which led the operatives to swing into further action to recover large quantity of the substance at Gwiwa Village of K/Namoda LGA while investigation is still in progress.
Police also arrested one Babuga Abubakar of Mayana area in Gusau.
The suspect was arrested based on intelligence that he has been collaborating with notorious bandits like Lawali Na’eka, a ring leader operating in Maradun LGA and Almeriya, a notorious kingpin operating in Bungudu. 
Others arrested and paraded include Dandela, Buga, Ibrahim Smally’, Hussaini’, Lawali, Malan Mai Sayen Shanu  Mati Maidungu, Saminu and Mairawani ‘, Lawali Kabiru,  Mohammed  Jamilu, Bello Mu'azu Sammaila Lawali and Mustapha Bello among others along Garejin Mailena area Gusau LGA. 
The Police Commissioner thanked the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad, and Matawallen Maradun Barden Kasar Hausa, Sarkin Yakin Daular Usmaniyya, who have been untirelessly supporting Police and other security agencies in discharging their duties effectively that led to all the successes recorded in the area.
