Ramaphosa’s Visit: Army Allays Fears of Abuja Residents Over Gun Sound

The Guards Brigade of the Nigerian Army has notified FCT residents that artillery would fire guns shots as part of activities commemorating the 2-day working visit of the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa to Nigeria.

The South African leader's is scheduled to visit Nigeria between Tuesday, November 30 and Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

In a statement, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Captain Anebi Abakpa disclosed that part of the activities in honour of the visiting President would be the inspection of Guard of Honor at the Presidential Villa and firing of twenty-one-gun salute during the occasion.

He called on the general public, especially those living within Asokoro and its environs not to panic at the sound of the simulated firing of artillery guns during the Guard of Honor parade.
