The Nigerian troops on Thursday evening successfully foiled an attempted attack by Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists at a military base in Malam Fatori, Borno State and a community in Yobe States.
The terrorists who came in gun trucks and motorcycles were however subdued by troops who eliminated some of them as others were forced to retreat after a heavy gun battle.
Almost around the same time, military troops stationed in Yobe State also repelled another ISWAP attack at the Babangida community.
A security source said the terrorists were pushed towards Jalingo village close to the Jauro axis in the State.
