The Nigerian Army on Monday announced that the one of its officer who paid the Supreme prize on June 14, 2021, late Sergeant Folusho Fagbemiro will be immortalized.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Army War College, Major Mohammed Maidawa, the honour is in recognition of the late soldier’s dedication service to the Nigerian Army and fatherland.
The statement added that the Army deemed fit to immortalise her by naming the college Soldiers’ Canteen after the departed female soldier.
Maidawa added that, the gesture is a show of appreciation of her efforts while in active service and in realization of the cardinal principle of the Chief of Army Staff’s commitment to upholding regimentation and reward for hard work.
He stated that the symbolic event will hold on Tuesday 28th September 2021 at the Army War College Nigeria, Abuja.
"Ths COAS, Lt. Gen. Faruk Yahaya Medal will perform this historic function.
Until her death, Late Sergeant Folusho Fagbemiro was a dedicated staff who worked meritoriously in the Catering Department of Army War College Nigeria.
She was buried at Guards Brigade Military Cemetery, Lungi Barracks, Abuja on June 17, 2021
