Still on the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2021 with the theme: "A Professional and Ready Nigerian Army: A Prerequisite for Successful Operations in a Joint Environment", the Headquarters 23 Brigade have impacted the lives of their host community in Adamawa state.
They conducted Special Jummat prayers at Gibson Jalo Central Mosque on 1 July 2021 where the Chief Imam led a special prayer session for Peace, Unity Stability, and Integration of our dear nation.
The occasion was attended by the Commander 23 Brigade Brigadier General Aminu Garba, SSG Adamawa state, and heads of Military and Para-military Agencies in the state.
Similarly, Interdenominational Church Service was held at the Our Lady Fatima in the same Cantonment on 3 July 2021 with invited guests from Government Parastatals and Security Agencies from the state alongside officers, soldiers, and their families in attendance.
In the same vein, members of the Nigerian Army officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 23 Brigade chapter touched lives with the distribution of relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons at Malkohi Camp behind the Cantonment.
The Association also extended their hand of fellowship to Karewa Orphanage Home in Jimeta , Yola where a variety of humanitarian materials were distributed.
The event was climaxed on the 6 July 2021 with a Joint medical outreach held at Garkida Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa state where series of medical checkups like Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar Level, Malaria test, Dental inspection, Eyes checks were conducted. The Brigade also administered drugs and shared treated mosquitoes nets.
The Commander also donated a large number of educational materials such as pencils, notebooks, biros, rulers, sharpeners, erasers, chalkboards, dusters among others. The Commander also distributed some sporting items to some primary and secondary schools in Garkida.
Highlights of the event included the presentation of NADCEL souvenirs and group photographs with elders, community leaders, pupils, and students in Garkida.
