The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, on Tuesday performed this year's Eid-El Kabir prayers with troops of Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri in Borno State.
Army Spokesperson, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
He said, Lieutenant General Yahaya observed the prayers along with Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters alongside officers and soldiers of the Command.
Delivering the Eid sermon, Acting Deputy Director, Islamic Affairs, 7 Division, Captain Mohammed Babangida prayed for peace and security of the nation.
He made supplications to Allah for mercy, guidance and divine protection for President Muhammadu Buhari and all members of the Armed Forces, especially in the ongoing fight against insurgency and other security challenges in the country.
