Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested One Alhadji Rahmoni yesterday at Odo Owa community Okeero local government of Kwara state
Reports say Rahmoni and a man from Odo Owa were arrested while carrying out their criminal duties with one of their victims.
According to Our source, "Two days ago they received a ransom of 2million naira from the family of a victim (A road Safety officer) they kidnapped, yesterday they were on the verge of receiving 6million from another victim before they met their Waterloo"
The two suspects arrested were identified as Bunmi, an indigene of Odo Owa and a Fulani man named Ramoni.
Both suspects according to a top Civil Defence Corps official in Omu-Aran, Mr. A.O.Mobayo, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police area command office at Omu-Aran, in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, for further investigation.
The joint covert operation, we further gathered, was sequel to the confessional statement of a suspected kidnapper arrested in Ekiti by the state police command.
Again, from Oke-Ero, the Divisional Officer of the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, in Iloffa, Oguntifa Felix, reported that there was a breakdown of law and order at about 1900hours on Thursday, as angry members of the community attacked the Fulani community, setting their houses including one hotel ablaze
A Toyota corolla car belonging to a Fulani man, Alhaji Idowu, was also reportedly set ablaze by the irate mob who attacked the community.
Reacting to the development, the Wakili Fulani of Omu-aran, Abdullahi Ibrahim, alleged that some hoodlums attacked Fulani properties in Omu-aran and Oke-Ero towns over alleged reports of kidnap suspects arrested by Ekiti state police command.
Speaking with our correspondent on phone, Ibrahim, said though no life was lost in the incident, houses and vehicles belonging to Fulani citizens were burnt by the irate mob in the two towns.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Kwara State Police Command, Mr. Okasanm. I Ajayi, said he would get back to our correspondent, but could not up till the time of this report.
"They have been handed over to the Nigeria Army yesterday for further investigation
"Our Source added that in December 2020 he bought a jeep worth 15million and a hotelier.
"His hotel was destroyed today, he invested much in my community here in Omu Aran. His house was razed currently now on fire, Three years ago he was arrested with a human head but he manipulated his way out.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army or Nigeria Police are yet to confirm this report.
