The death toll from the recent bomb blast that hit Bata, Equatorial Guinea, on Sunday has risen to 105, findings reveal.
Not less than 20 persons were confirmed dead and about 600 residents suffered severe injuries as multiple explosions rocked a military camp in Bata, Equatorial Guinea's largest city.
However, on Wednesday, the death toll rose with the number of injured casualties going up to 615.
President Teodoro Obiang Nguema, reacting to the incident, blamed the military for ‘negligence’ in stocking ammunition so close to residential areas.
The President revealed that officers in charge of the camp, which houses Special Forces and their families, had been 'careless’.
“Dynamite is normally stocked very far from people and kept underground,” the President said.
