Tragedy as Nigerian football star Henry Obiekwu dies on the pitch

Nigerian football has been hit with another tragedy following the death of former Enugu Rangers star Henry Obiekwu who slumped and died on Monday, February, 13, 2017 while featuring in a friendly game in Enugu.
Former super eagles and Heartland defender Kingsley Obiekwu confirmed to Africanfootball the death of his younger brother Henry.

The deceased was said to have been replaced during the friendly match with his youth team Samba FC at the UNEC Stadium in Enugu after he complained of severe chest pain.

ll efforts to resuscitate his life were futile as he was rushed to several hospitals before he was confirmed dead at the Eastern Nigeria Medical Centre in Enugu.

Henry last played for FC Taraba who have been relegated to the second tie of the Nigerian football.
