Nollywood actor and controversial national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Ike granted an interview to TVC recently.
The actor spoke on crisis rocking AGN even when he said there is no crisis. He also discussed the court case that sacked Ibinabo Fiberesima, Segun Arinze to Kunle Afolayan‘s high budget movies and his wife-beating scandal. Ike said there is no crisis rocking AGN.
He explained that whatever issue the association had has been legally resolved.
On Ibinabo, he said her status as a convict makes her unfit for a leadership role and a bad role model to the younger generation. Ike accused Ibinabo of indecent behaviour when going to meet prospective investors in Nollywood. He said about her “we are not running a prostitution cartel”.
Emeka isn’t done with the past presidents of AGN as he also accused past president of AGN Segun Arinze of not qualifying to be the president of the association. He said Arinze does not have a first degree nor OND even when the AGN constitution says you cannot make anybody who does not have a first degree a president of the association. Ike is known to be a fearless man who spares nobody in his talks.
The actor cum movie producer also lambasted people saying Kunle Afolayan makes fantastic movies. He said: “Don’t tell me Kunle Afolayan is making a fantastic movie. You gave him 200 million Naira for crying out loud.
The entire industry has not even used 200 million before now to make movies for God’s sake now. So if you give a dunce that money, he can get the best producer. So it’s not a fantastic thing, you are not making me feel oppressed.”
